The Criminal Justice Club & Freedom Fighters 6.12 are hosting a Human Trafficking event on Wednesday, December 2nd from 6-8 in Lake Superior A of the Oakland Center.

Freedom Fighters is a faith based organization whose goal is to help fight human trafficking by raising awareness. While the Criminal Justice Club seeks for justice and protecting others. Together these two club organizations came together to raise awareness.

The CJ and FF Clubs proudly welcome the Executive Director Kathy Maitland from Michigan Abolitionist Project (MAP); this event entails a talk about the harsh reality of human trafficking. The central focus of the talk is on human trafficking: The impact on the community in local Michigan.

The speaker will be discussing the many sides of human trafficking – addressing the legal issues, the importance, and providing general insight and helpful suggestions for its prevention. As always there will be free food, and this event is free and open to all OU students.
